# TIPA introduces high-barrier film and laminate food packaging solutions

[**TIPA**](https://tipa-corp.com/?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) **has expanded its portfolio to include four new high-barrier film and laminate products, seeking to offer compostable alternatives without compromising on performance, barrier, or machine compatibility.**

Key applications include single-serve and sachet applications, chips, protein and drink powders, nutraceuticals such as vitamins, and gummies, ground coffee and tea. TIPA says the new laminates offer ‘breakthrough’ moisture and oxygen barrier properties, allowing a wider variety of foods to use compostable packaging with no compromise on shelf life.

The laminates include paper and transparent print layers, aiming to give brands a variety of options to meet the functional and aesthetic needs of their products. TIPA says all its films and laminates are designed to be run on conventional packaging machinery and are printable and sealable.

TIPA’s new high-barrier solutions offer the ability to protect goods and maintain shelf life with the same durability and longevity achieved by conventional plastic, breaking the glass ceiling for compostable packaging solutions and allowing more brands to join the movement,” commented Daphna Nissenbaum, co-founder and CEO of TIPA.

This month, the company [partnered](https://packagingeurope.com/news/coveris-and-tipa-partner-on-home-compostable-labels-for-fresh-produce/13368.article?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) with [Coveris](https://www.coveris.com/?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) in an exclusive agreement to manufacture and market compostable labels for fresh produce in the UK, in response to increasing market demand and tightening regulatory requirements for the compostability of produce stickers. TIPA says the film offers moisture resistance while remaining flexible, allowing the stickers to securely adhere to produce that often has wet or varied surfaces.

Earlier this year, Coveris Rypin [collaborated](https://packagingeurope.com/news/coveris-develops-recyclable-film-packaging-for-brze-snacks/13037.article?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) with Polish brand [Brześć](https://brzesc.pl/?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) to package its ‘puffs’ snacks in a recyclable film, said to improve shelf appeal and support the reduction of packaging waste. It is also optimized for eight-colour flexographic printing with optional matt or gloss finishes, drawing attention to the brand identity.
