# Newwen and Paardekooper join forces for reusable transport packaging

**Aiming to make the logistics sector more ‘efficient and sustainable’,** [**Newwen**](https://www.newwen.com/?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) **has launched reusable plastic (PP) transport boxes equipped with IoT technology such as RFID and QR codes, distributed by** [**Paardekooper**](https://www.paardekooper.com/nl%5FNL/?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io)**.**

Newwen says the new boxes can be reused up to 25 times, are easy to clean, and are available in both new and recycled materials. The boxes are said to align with the sustainability goals of the [European Green Deal](https://commission.europa.eu/strategy-and-policy/priorities-2019-2024/european-green-deal%5Fen?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) by contributing to CO2 reduction and saving space during transport.

The collaboration between the two companies hopes to lead towards the introduction of various products within the horticulture and agriculture sectors, including plastic PP boxes and reusable containers, available through Paardekooper.

Edwin Vanlaerhoven, Horti managing director at Paardekooper, says about the partnership: “The decision to include Newwen’s reusable PP boxes in our assortment fits perfectly within this vision. Through this collaboration, we strengthen our role as a leader in sustainable packaging solutions.”

Robert Dompeling, senior business and development Manager at Newwen, states: “Our partnership with Paardekooper enables us to bring our sustainable innovations to the market more quickly and effectively. By joining forces, we can make the logistics sector more efficient and sustainable, allowing us to achieve our shared goals in sustainability and innovation more rapidly.”

[Returnity](https://www.returnity.co/?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) announced in August that it had [adapted](https://packagingeurope.com/news/returnity-adapts-shipping-box-solution-for-varying-distribution-line-setups/11791.article?ref=packaging-europe.ghost.io) its reusable shipping box solution, The Last Box, to work with various distribution line setups in retail and e-commerce. The solution has a collapsible nesting design for storage and returns, designed to reduce retailers’ packaging costs and the cardboard waste generated by the retail and e-commerce industries.
