Lifecycles’ online Packaging LCA course equips designers for circularity

Sustainability measurement and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) consultancy, Lifecycles, is proud to announce the launch of its new online Packaging LCA Course, designed to empower packaging engineers, sustainability managers, and designers with the tools and knowledge to create packaging that is not only more sustainable, but most critically, backed by robust LCA data.

The EU course is scheduled for 16–18 September 2025 (CEST). This short-format course provides a practical and accessible introduction to LCA with a strong emphasis on how to apply LCA insights in sustainable packaging design.

Participants will learn how to build comparative LCA models using PIQET – Lifecycles’ intuitive, web-based packaging LCA tool designed to evaluate packaging and balance circularity goals with overall environmental impact.

The course unpacks essential LCA concepts and applies them to today’s packaging challenges, from recycled content and recovery systems, re-use to packaging efficiency and organisational targets.

• Introduction to LCA in packaging
• LCA indicators, including Product Environmental Footprint (PEF)
• Circularity and packaging indicators
• Recycled content and allocation approaches
• End-of-life modelling and recovery systems

• Standards, interpretation, and ISO 14044-compliant reporting
